He was born on September 12, 1943 in Sherman, TX and resided in Nashville since 1970. He was preceded in death by his father, Orie Lee Barnes. Survivors include his mother, Marguerite Scott of Waxahachie, TX; his sons, Tony Barnes and wife, Vickie of Nashville; Terry Barnes and wife, Gail of Oneida, TN; his daughter, Tracy Welborn of Sunnyvale, TX; his uncle, Garner Barnes and wife, Joyce of Nashville; two brothers, Robert Barnes and Kenneth Barnes, both of Nashville; a sister, Anita Franklin and husband, Travis of Burleson, TX; a special friend, Mary Woodruff; 3 grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Nashville, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
