Obituary:
Otis Hansford McLarty, 91, of Longview, TX went to be with the lord on July 14, 2010 at Crest Care Nursing Home. He was born in Tokio, AR on February 6, 1919 to George and Alma McLarty.
Otis moved to Longview, Texas in 1955. During this time he worked at East Texas Motor Freight as a Stock Hand and Truck Driver. He loved to go to church, read the newspaper, and watch the weather channel. He was a member of Winterfield Methodist Church in Longview.
Otis was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Charlie Lucille Jones, his parents, George and Alma McLarty, and one sister, Hazel Jones.
Otis is survived by three daughters. Janet Ruth Henley, Ina Maye Lewis, and Nina Faye Dorthlon, all of Longview, Texas. He is also survived by six grandchildren; James Dorthlon, Michael Dorthlon, Sandra Dorthlon, and Amy Henley all of Longview, Texas and Gena Pass, of Gainesville, Florida and Kevin Lewis, of Houston, Texas. He was fortunate to have four great grandchildren; Nicole and Adam Amburn, AJ Pass and Ethan Dorthlon.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 17 at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville, Arkansas, with burial to follow in Ozan Cemetery, at Bingen, Arkansas.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
