Barbara Jean Sturman

Barbara Jean Sturman, age 69 of Billstown, Arkansas, passed away on April 17, 2026 at her home. She was born on July 28, 1956, the daughter of the late Dick Edwin McDowell and Lois Parker Vaughn.

Mrs. Sturman was a member of the Smyrna Methodist Church. She loved gardening and housework. She enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. She worked as a beautician and a postal worker, as well as being an administrator for her family’s logging business. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 50 years, Paul Sturman; her son, James Struman; her sister, Becky Sturtevant; three grandchildren Eden (Andrew) Henderson, Dillon (Paige) Sturman and Waylon Sturman; six great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.

A graveside service for Mrs. Sturman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026 in Smyrna Cemetery with Rev. Jim Henderson officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Murfreesboro.
