Billy Deon McElyea

June 2, 1970 — June 3, 2023

Nashville

Billy McElyea, age 53 of Nashville, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 2, 1970, in Pasadena, Texas to the late James McElyea and Mollie Brooks.

Billy was a member of the Cross Point Cowboy Church in Nashville. He was a millwright for Texarkana Aluminum at the time of his passing. He dearly loved to fish and go for long rides on his Harley but most of all he loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and his friends. He loved big gatherings. He coached baseball for almost 15 years and was a big kid at heart.

Billy fought a long, hard battle with cancer, but he never lost his faith or his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. When he was able, he read from his bible daily and preached His word to anyone who would listen. He wanted all his family and friends to know God like he did.

Billy loved his wife, children and grandchildren more than life itself. He was a very proud, very strong man; one of the toughest. He was and is loved by many. He’s made a huge impact on a lot of boys through coaching and on a lot of people throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, James McElyea, his stepfather (Dad), Joe Dubose, and his younger brother, Dana Demond McElyea.

He is survived by the love of his life of 34 years, Pamela McElyea, his mother Mollie Brooks and stepfather John, two sons, Jade McElyea and wife Ileana, Dakota McElyea and wife Brooklynn, and his pride and joy, four grandchildren, Maggie Mae (Mookie), Dana Daxen (Duke), Jon Remington (Mooney), and Savannah Erin (Sissy), along with numerous family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Cross Point Cowboy Church, here in Nashville.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Cross Point Cowboy Church following visitation, with Bro. Don Jones officiating. Services are under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
