Bobby Dale Smith Sr.

Bobby Dale Smith Sr., 90, of Lockesburg, Arkansas passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, in Temple, Texas. He was born February 16, 1936 in Wickes, Arkansas the son of the late Archie Greer and Olive Alice Bumgarner Smith.

Mr. Smith was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lockesburg and a freemason. Bobby was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Lavelle Medlock Smith, one son Bobby Smith Jr., and one grandson Danny “DJ” Downing.

Survivors include one son James Smith and wife Felicia; one daughter Shirley Marvelle Downing and husband Dennis. Two grandchildren Brandi Morrison and husband Richard and Anna Cox and husband Zakery; four great grandchildren Emery and Braylen Morrison and Karson and Laityn Cox; four step great grandchildren R.J., Madison, Peyton and Ivy Morrison; one sister Georgie Steinkraus; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Cremation services are under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
