Derald Dean Chaney

Derald Dean Chaney, age 95 of Horatio, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 in Ashdown. He was born on June 17, 1928 in Murfreesboro, Arkansas to the late Luther Chaney and Mary Brown Chaney.

Mr. Chaney was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed riding with his son, Gary. In his younger years, he served his country in World War II and the Korean War. He later retired from Ash Grove Cement as a truckdriver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Edna Chaney, his son Mike Chaney, brother, James Chaney and two sisters Imogene Howard and Gerald Wilson.

Survivors include his son, Gary Chaney and wife Sharilyn; son Paul Chaney, his sister Shirley Thresher; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Murfreesboro Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
