Dr. Hiram Travis Ward, age 95, of Murfreesboro, Arkansas died on Thursday, July 29, 2021 in Murfreesboro, Arkansas. He was born November 26, 1925 in Murfreesboro, Arkansas the son of the late Grady Hiram and Ruth Lilly Ward.
Dr. Ward studied pre-medicine at Ouachita College in Arkadelphia, Arkansas before being drafted in World War II where he served as an Army Medical Technician from 1944 to 1946. He received his medical degree in 1952 from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Cathy Ward, and his brother Lemuel Grady Ward.
Survivors include his wife Janice M. Ward of Murfreesboro; four sons Richard Ward and wife Judy of California, Marty Pipkins of Kirby, Eddie Pipkins of Murfreesboro, Hank Chaney of Murfreesboro; three daughters Ruth Ward of Little Rock, Melanie Trout and husband Tim of Kirby, Cherry Mantooth and husband Larry of Kirby; nine grandchildren Dustin Mantooth, Monica Wright, Jesse Pipkins, Andrew Pipkins, Travis Ward, Nicole Stevens, Morgan Ewing, Warner Pipkins, and Marley Holmes; 9 great grandchildren Landon Wright, Easton Taylor, Hayden Taylor, Carson Taylor, Emma Taylor, Eli Taylor, Benjamin Brady Stevens, Kingston Jere Ewing, and Luke Holmes; as well as a number of other relatives and friends.
A private family burial service was held at Murfreesboro Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
