Dwayne Flaherty, age 67 of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022. He was born in Nashville, Arkansas to Jimmy Dale and Bruenel Simmons Flaherty, on November 1, 1955.
Dwayne loved spending time with family, hanging out at deer camp and hunting in Murfreesboro. Dwayne (JD) had a wonderful group of friends that he shared life with for 40 plus years. They traveled together, threw the best parties, and had legendary Halloween costumes. In all his travels and here in Arkansas, Dwayne enjoyed capturing the places he enjoyed with his camera. He will be missed by many due to his fun loving and generous nature.
Dwayne graduated from Murfreesboro High School in 1973. He went to several colleges studying Information Systems before graduating from Arkansas Tech University in 1982. He then started a long career with Systemics to Fidelity National Information Services, all within the same company and retired in November 2019.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Dale Flaherty and a brother-in-law Gary Cawthon.
Survivors include his mother Bruenel Simmons Flaherty; brother: Bill Flaherty and wife Wilma; sisters: Betty Cawthon, Anita Rogers and husband Roy, and Alecia Flaherty and Penny; nephews: William Flaherty, Chris Conatser and wife Emily, Daron Rogers and wife Brittany; niece Stefanie Conatser; great nieces and nephews Devin Wilkerson and wife Emily, Zayne Flaherty, Nathan and Kristen Rogers, Courtney Cook and husband Jerred, Micah, Wyatt and Jonah Conatser; great-great nieces and nephews: Ireland and Jaiger Cook and Emerson and Wrenley Wilkerson; His Little Rock family Jack Finch and wife Nolann, Jamie Jilka and husband Chris, Lily and Hayley, Jackie Finch, Larry Slaten, Karen Thompson and husband Eddie, and Kenny McNeil; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
Graveside services will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in the College Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Nashville.
