Edward Ray Bailey, affectionately known as Ray, of Delight, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on February 2, 1947, and lived a life defined by hard work, determination, and unwavering love for those closest to him.
Ray was a hardworking and determined man who never shied away from a challenge. His strong work ethic and perseverance were evident in everything he did, and he took great pride in providing for and caring for his family. Above all else, Ray loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father , grandfather , great-grandfather , and brother whose love, guidance, strength, and resolve will forever be remembered.
An avid outdoorsman, Ray found great joy in hunting and fishing, creating countless memories with family and friends. He was also a dedicated horseshoe competitor who enjoyed the fellowship and friendly competition the sport brought throughout his life.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife, Alta Bailey; his son, Shannon Bailey and wife, Audrey; his daughter , Melissa Kenworthy and husband, Jason; his cherished grandchildren, Gavin Bailey, Chance Jackson, Connor Bailey, Bailey Jackson, Isabella Jackson, and Olivia Jackson; his precious great-grandchildren, OakLee Jackson and Maverick Jackson; his loving sister , Sybil Lewallen; and countless nieces, nephews,
extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Gladys Bailey; and his siblings, Joy Hill, Nancy Bailey, Bill Bailey, Faye Cheek, Mary Jo Hill, Travis Bailey, and Teddy Bailey.
Ray's life was a testament to the importance of hard work, determination, and putting family first. His integrity, determination, and steadfast spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, the love he shared, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of all who loved him.
The family finds comfort in knowing that Ray passed peacefully, surrounded by those he loved most. While his presence will be greatly missed, his legacy will live on through the family he cherished and the values he instilled in them.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the Crossroads Assembly of God near Delight.
Funeral services will follow immediately after at 12:00 p.m. at the Crossroads Assembly of God. Interment will follow in Delight Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Murfreesboro.
