Edward D. Edge, (AKA Harvey), age 84, left this world on April 23, 2025, to be with his Heavenly Father surrounded by his loving family. Harvey was born February 8, 1941, in Billstown, Arkansas, the son of Gip Edge and Mildred Edge (Stone). He attended the First Assembly of God church, in Delight.
His family moved from Billstown to Houston, Texas when he was nine years old, and he spend his formative years there, but in 1969 he moved back home to Delight.
Harvey was a multi-talented individual who could do most anything. He worked as a carpenter, an owner/ operator truck driver, and even owned cattle and worked horses at times. His true passion in this life was music. He brought so much joy to his family and friends by playing and singing for and with them. Harvey also loved to joke with those he loved! If he never joked with you or picked on you a little, then he may not have liked you, just saying!
Harvey loved spending his time outdoors and genuinely loved working. He could out- work most younger people until he became ill, and daily said he wished he could still do it. When his sister Betty moved here in 2019, Harvey found the real joy of God with her. Many days and nights they discussed and praised God that He had brought them back together. He loved to dress for the occasion and had a reputation around Delight as the best dressed at whatever function he attended.
In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his loving wife Nell, one brother, Bobby Joe Edge, and one son-in-law, Randy Abbott of Delight. Survivors include his daughter Rhonda Abott of Delight, son Dewayne Edge and wife Reba of Amity, daughter Sharon Henderson and husband Tom of Delight, one sister Betty Medford of Delight, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren, his special friend, Faye Cheek
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the Delight First Assembly of God. Arrangements are under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Murfreesboro.
