Fannie Lucille Anderson

Mrs. Fannie Lucille Briggs Anderson was born September 30, 1925 in McCaskill, AR, to the late Henry Reeder and Minnie Tesola Blanch Briggs of Ozan, Arkansas. Mrs. Anderson was called to rest May 15, 2010 at the Nashville Nursing Home, Nashville, Arkansas. Mrs. Anderson was one of fifteen children. She attended school in Clow and Columbus High School in Columbus, Arkansas. She later married the late Reecy Anderson. Mrs. Anderson is the mother of twelve children. Four children have preceded her in death. She accepted Christ at an early age and she united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she was a very active member, serving in many capacities in the Church including working as a gracious Usher, which she loved until her health began to fail. Even though her health was failing she remained concerned and interested in the growth and affairs of the Church. Mrs. Anderson loved to cook and worked for many restaurants. She spent many years working at Childress High School Cafeteria. Mrs. Anderson was known throughout the southwest for her famous and delicious â�œButter Rolls.â₝ Mrs. Anderson retired from the Benson Nursing Home where she also worked for many years; she was a devoted housewife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and Aunt dividing her time between family, Church, and hobbies of cooking, sewing, and singing. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Rubie Lee and Jackie; two sons, Johnny Lee and Archie Lee; seven brothers, Charlie Hubbard, Herman, Archie Lee, Andrew, Henry, Roy and Earnest; and six sisters, Edna Moore, Daisy, Dorothy, Bertha Briggs, Addie Benson, and Annie Bell Briggs. She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Earnestine (late Kary) McFall of Oakland, CA, Jerline (Roy) Davis of Mineral Springs, AR, Verdia Anderson of Oakland, CA, Gloria (James) Houston of Pine Bluff, AR, Gladys Anderson of Beacon, New York; five sons, Alfred and Reecy Anderson of Nashville, AR, Leon (Jackie) Anderson of Texarkana, AR, JC and KC Anderson of Hope, AR; one brother, James Briggs of Nashville, AR; one devoted brother-in-law, Fletcher Benson; one sister, Rosa (Bob) Lord of Peoria, AZ; 43 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Nashville, burial to follow in Sunset Gardens in Nashville under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home.
