Fred Minton, age 81, of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023 at his home in Murfreesboro.  He was born November 26, 1942 in Hot Springs, Arkansas the son of the late Henry and Eva Hill Minton.

Mr. Minton served in the United States Army.  He began his career in 1964 in the postal service at Hot Springs until 1973 and then became Postmaster in Murfreesboro from 1973 to 1998.  Additional jobs included Workforce services from 1998 to 2007, and Superior Protection Service 2007 to 2009.  During his free time he enjoyed playing golf and going fishing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Clarence Minton, Carl Minton, and Donnie Minton; sisters Lois Goodnight, Christine Johnston, and Bernice Perdue.

Survivors include his wife Sarnia Murphy Minton, two sons Tim Minton, Tom Minton, one sister Dortha Mae Gideon, one brother Ralph Minton, grandchildren Tyler Minton and wife Bri, Spencer Minton and wife Merry.

Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 9, at the First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, with Rev. James Wainscott and Chad Brinkley officiating.
