James Steely

James Steely, 73, of Nashville, passed away on March 26, 2014 in Nashville. He was born on September 2, 1940 in Kiamitia, Texas, the son of the late James Harold Steely and Mildred Lorine (Clark) Steely. Mr. Steely was a retired electrician; sales associate at wal-mart; and an Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley McKnight Steely. Survivors include 3 sons, Jimmy Steely and wife, Ruth of Nashville, Jeff Steely of Nashville, and Jeremy Steely of California; one grandchild, Sydney Steely of Texarkana, as well as a host other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Restland Cemetery in Nashville with Tim Bowlin officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, March 28, 2014 at Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville. Memorials may be made to the Howard County Relay for Life in memory of his wife, Shirley.
