Jimmy Dale, 76, of Nashville passed away on Tuesday, July 9th at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 4, 1948, in Nashville, Arkansas, the younger son of the late Harry Charles Dale and Mary Graves Dale. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Rose Stidham Dale. Jimmy was a 1965 graduate of Nashville High School and graduated from Southern State College (now SAU) in Magnolia in 1969. After college he taught school in Waldo and Umpire. He later left teaching and went to work as a sales representative for General Electric in Memphis. After his two boys were born, Jimmy took a job in Glenwood managing a store for Southwest Arkansas Furniture. He later moved to Nashville and worked at the Southwest store there until 1993. He then opened and managed stores in Hope and Nashville for Ivan Smith Furniture. Jimmy retired from the furniture business in 2006 and went to work as the financial director for the City of Nashville until his retirement in December 2016.

Jimmy was a bi-vocational pastor and served the First Baptist Church of Washington, Arkansas for 31 years. He was president of the Nashville Rotary Club for three different terms. The highest award an individual Rotarian can receive is the Service Above Self Award. The recipient of that award is recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow. Jimmy was honored to become a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a past member of the board of directors of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Nashville. 

Jimmy is survived by his children, Eric Dale and his wife Michelle of Hot Springs, Mark Dale and his wife Shawn of Nashville. Other survivors include five grandchildren: Haley, Camille, Sophie, Slade, and Abby and two great grandchildren, Tyson and Gunter. He is also survived by his brother Edwin Dale and wife Mary Karol of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and many other family members and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Nashville on Saturday, July 20th. The visitation will be at 10am with services to follow at 11am.

Services will be directed by Latimer Funeral Home of Nashville.
