Linda Kay Cox

Linda Kay Cox, age 72 of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at her home. She was born on October 1, 1954 in Nashville, the daughter of the late L.C. Lingo and Wanza Lou Bumgarner Lingo.

Mrs. Cox was a devoted homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family. She was married to the love of her life, Larry Joe Cox, for 53 wonderful years. Larry was not only her husband, but her best friend and lifelong companion. Kay’s family was her greatest joy, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Joe, whose memory she carried in her heart everyday and his wife, Bridgette. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Lingo, a brother-in-law, Johnny Ray Cox and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, O.C. and Wanda Cox.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Larry Joe Cox; her brother and sister-in-law, Scotty Lingo and Melissa; her sister-in-law, Carol Lingo; a brother-in-law, Garry Cox and wife, Bonnie; two grandsons, Dylan Cox and his wife, Brooke, and Nathan Cox; her granddaughter, Kaylynn Cox and family; two great-grandsons, Ace and Axel (Turbo) Cox; a special friend, Teresa Schooley; Two pets, Peanut and Lil Bit; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until the graveside service begins on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Murfreesboro Cemetery.

A graveside service for Mrs. Cox will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Ocotober 3, 2026 at Murfreesboro Cemetery with Rev. Jim Henderson officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Murfreesboro.
