Rhani Babendure

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rhani Babendure on November 19, 2024, at the age of 78. Rhani was born on August 28, 1946, in Prescott, AR., to Richard and Mary (Gathright) Mauldin.

Rhani was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, fierce loyalty, and love and support for her family and community. She was a long-time member of Kingwood Community Church and helped many missionary endeavors throughout the years.

Rhani was one of the first female stockbrokers in the state of Texas receiving her series 7 license in 1977. She worked as a stockbroker and financial planner with Paine Webber / UBS until her retirement in 1999. She also started a flower business along the way (Rhani’s Flower Basket) which she sold in 1990. Rhani was an active member of the Kingwood Executive Group for many years and cherished all the friendships that sprung from that association. Rhani received many awards during her career both professionally and for her charitable activities.

Preceded in joining the Lord: Mother & Father, Richard & Mary Mauldin. Her husband, David Babendure and brother-in-law Nyle Elliott.

Survived by: sons Tray Leatherwood, Cannon Leatherwood, and Wiley Sale, daughter-in-law Melissa Kacel; grandchildren Benjamin Leatherwood, Adelle & Dane Leatherwood; sisters Mary Alice Moore & Cathy Elliott; brother-in-law Lankford Moore and she is also survived by her loving nieces, Corey Eubanks, Mesha Nix and nephew Ben Luckhardt and many more loving family members.

Private funeral services are under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville, AR. Service will be held at New Life Church on Saturday, December 7th at 10:30 AM. Rhani’s final resting place will be at Saratoga Cemetery, AR.
