Travis Watson

Travis Glen Watson, 68, of Murfreesboro, AR, went to be with the Lord on December 4, 2009 in Hot Springs, AR. He was born on August 3, 1941 in Murfreesboro to the late Robert and Estelle (Wood) Watson. Mr. Watson was Pike County Treasurer for several years; taught singing; was in the Gospel Tones Quartet; and was member and congregational song leader at the Murfreesboro Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, Mr. Watson was preceded in death by one brother, Olen Watson. Survivors include: his wife of 47 years, Darlene (Green) Watson; one son, Gary Watson and wife, Connie of Murfreesboro; two daughters, Paula Chesshir and husband, Kevin of Nashville, and Lori McCain and husband, Matt of Sheridan; two brothers, Leon Watson of Fouke, AR and Robert Watson of Texarkana, AR; one sister, Marilyn Walker of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Jay Watson and wife Jennifer, Aimee Watson, Brad and Allyson Chesshir, and Kyla and Kera McCain; in addition, Colton Mullins and Phylicia Vandawalker; numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be at the Murfreesboro Church of Christ at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, December 6, 2009 with Tommy Mounts and Roger Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Home Cemetery in Murfreesboro under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.
