Douglas Ray Fugitt, age 84 of Billstown, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at his home. He was born on December 18, 1938 to the late Dick and Allene Folsom Fugitt.
Mr. Fugitt was a member of the Apostolic Life Tabernacle Church in Nashville. He was a woodworker and enjoyed spending his days working in his shop.
He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army from October 1961 to October 1967. During his tenure, he served in Company B, the 4th Battle Group 10th Infantry. He was in the Panama Canal Zone. Later he served in Company K, the 95th Division in the Army Reserve out of Nashville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dehrondia Fugitt, and his brother, Bobby Fugitt.
Survivors include his niece, Myra Manning and husband Mike, nephew Terry Manley, great-nephew Hunter Manley, great-nephew Avery Manley, great-niece Ava Brooke Manley, great-niece Lyndon Manley, as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Latimer Funeral Chapel in Murfreesboro with Bro. Billy Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Billstown Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
