Mabel Elizabeth Sanders, age 94 of Nashville, Arkansas, died Friday, January 20, 2023 in Texarkana, Texas. She was born July 25, 1928 in Nashville, Arkansas the daughter of the late Clarence Richardson and Mabel Carson Richardson.
Mrs. Sanders was a lifetime member of the Sunset church of Christ and taught Sunday school. She was a seamstress for Town and Country Clothing store from 1994 to 1964. Mabel was very active in her community serving on the Howard County Extension and Homemakers since 1954, fifty years with the Howard County Fair Board crafts and sewing 1954 – 2004, as well as the Arkansas Hospital Auxillary.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Roe Sanders, one grandson Sean Sillavan, brothers Eugene, James, Harry, Willie, and Raymond Richardson; and three sisters Louise Graham, Evelyn McCornack, and Delores Brown.
Survivors include her daughter Sharon Sillavan and husband George of Texarkana, AR; one son Jimmy Sanders and wife Linda of Jones, OK; one brother Tony Richardson of Texarkana, AR; one grandson Dr. Jason Sanders and wife Tammy, one granddaughter in law Elizabeth Sillavan, great grandsons Will Sanders, Luke Sanders, and Colton Sillavan. As well as a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville with David Williams officiating, burial to follow in Restland Memorial Park.
