Mrs. Melba Jean Stone, age 86, of Delight, Ark., passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023.
She was born March 28, 1936, in Waco, Tx., to the late Herbert O. Hill and Carrie Collins Hill.
Jean married the love of her life, Grady Stone Sr., on August 8, 1954. Together they raised their five children, took several trips out west, enjoyed camping at the lake and ran Ramsey's/Billstown Store in Billstown, Ark. for many years. Jean enjoyed spending time with her family and looked forward to family reunions and gatherings as well as being an active member in the Delight community. She was a proud Texan and she was well known and loved by many. She never met a stranger, had an adventurous spirit and believed that "life is about living". She was a member of the Delight Church of Christ.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, son Victor Stone, son Grady Stone Jr., grandson Derrick Stone and granddaughter Erin Stone. She is survived by her daughters Jeanene DiMarzio of Hot Springs Village, Scarlett Henderson of Royal and Nona (Randy) Woodall of Delight; nine grandchildren, David (Marsha) Bateman, Natika (Eric) Porter, Kody (Kim) Henderson, Shawn (Pearl) Stone all of Hot Springs, Ark., Jeff (Valerie) Ramsey of Orlando,Fl., Neeley (Ben) Vance of Warren, Ark., Zac Stone of Texarkana, Ark., Grant (Becca) Woodall, Zane (Whitney) Woodall of Delight, Ark., Shea (Constance) Stone of Arkadelphia,Ark. and Dina (Skip) Johnson of Fulton, Miss. She leaves behind 23 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 30 from 6-8 pm at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11:00 am at Delight Church of Christ in Delight, Ark. with Bro. Leon McKinnon officiating. Burial to immediately follow at Delight Cemetary.
